On behalf of everyone at Northbourne, I would like to wish Mrs. Holdcroft lots of luck as she leaves us today to begin her maternity leave. Mrs. Holdcroft is a much valued and popular member of staff, and I know we will all miss her whilst she is not at school. We look forward to sharing news of yet another Northbourne baby as soon as we get it!

A BIG thank you to all the children, parents and staff who donated to Children In Need this year by coming to school in spotty non-uniform and taking part in a sponsored silence last Friday. The school has raised a total of £151.27 to date. Well done to everyone for helping raise such an impressive total, and a big thank you to all of the school council for helping plan, promote and run the event.

TAKEOVER!!!
To celebrate National Takeover Day, children in year 6 were given
the chance to apply for a job in school today. You may have
spotted the replacement Headteacher, Curtis Emery, and his
Deputy Head, Megan Edwards, meeting and greeting at the school
gate this morning. Other pupils have worked as class teachers for
Foundation Stage and Key Stage One classes, teaching assistants
and as snack bar managers during morning break.

We are really pleased to have appointed a new Deputy Headteacher to take up post in January. Caroline Newton has been teaching in West Sussex before recently moving into the area; she was an outstanding candidate during all stages of the selection process, and I am confident that Miss Newton will quickly become a very important part of our school and contribute significantly to our ongoing school development. Miss Newton will take over Mrs. Holdcroft’s teaching commitment in Kite class during Mrs. Holdcroft’s maternity leave.
