School Governors

Because we are a Church school, the majority of our governing body is appointed by a combination of the St Peter’s Church Parochial Church Committee and the Diocese of Oxford. Currently Dr Liz Cooper, Mrs Jackie Rolstone, Mr David Dancy, Mr Alan Wilson, Mr Henry Leighton and Mr Jon Driscoll hold these positions as ‘foundation’ governors.
There is a requirement that at least one of the foundation governors is a parent of a child at the school; Dr Cooper, Mr Wilson and Mr Driscoll are all current parents.
There is one vacancy for a Diocesan governor.

In our recent Ofsted inspection Northbourne School was graded as Good with Outstanding Features

Our Foundation Stage was graded as Outstanding.

We are also one of only 3 schools in Oxfordshire to have gained a ‘Leading Aspect Award’. The award is for our Foundation Stage curriculum.

After School Childcare

Neighbourhood Kids is the joint childcare venture with Northbourne CE Primary School and Willowcroft Community School. Appropriate for children ages 5-11 the Neighbourhood Kids After School Club pairs with the Neighbourhood Kids Holiday Day Camps to offer year-round childcare.

Lunch menus

Children can either bring a packed lunch or have school dinners.  The school kitchen serves a menu which follows healthy eating guidelines and is cooked on the premises.  There is always a choice of main course followed by a pudding.  Salads, fruit, yoghurt and cheese and biscuits are available daily.

Uniform

All children at Northbourne wear our school uniform.  Both boys and girls can wear grey trousers with the school polo shirt and sweatshirt.  Girls can choose to wear a grey skirt instead of trousers.  All children should wear brown or black shoes or trainers.  During the warmer summer months, girls can also wear a green and white gingham dress, and all children are encouraged to wear a cap to protect them from the sun.
