Welcome to Northbourne C of E (A) Primary School

Welcome to Northbourne School, Didcot, where we believe our happy, secure and exciting learning environment encourages children to strive for excellence and helps them realise their full potential. This prospectus gives you information about our school, but in order to appreciate the richness and variety of the education which we offer, do come and visit and see for yourselves. You can be sure of a warm welcome!

Northbourne Primary School has about 250 pupils. The school was opened in January 1962 and is of an interesting modern design with bright and attractive classrooms, a hall, library and special needs/music room. We are very proud of our well-equipped ICT suite and that we have interactive whiteboards in every classroom. We are lucky to have extensive grounds which are divided up into a variety of areas for different uses. These include a fitness trail, wildlife area and quiet area as well as playgrounds for older and younger children and sports pitches.

We have recently completely redeveloped our Key Stage 1 (infant) playground and it provides opportunities for many different sorts of play including a maze, sensory garden, and amphitheatre as well as space for growing vegetables and flowers.

Northbourne CE (A) Primary School is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We undertake rigorous checks on all staff and volunteers who work in our school and maintain a central record documenting these. Staff involved in recruitment and selection of employees are trained in safer recruitment, and all of our staff and volunteers undertake in-house Child Protection training.
