School Uniform

This would seem to be a good time of year to think about school uniform in preparation for next year.   An outline of our school uniform is below.  We expect all pupils to come to school dressed smartly in the following clothes:

  • School sweatshirt (emerald green with school logo), plain emerald green jersey or cardigan;
  • White shirt, white polo shirt (with a collar) or blouse;
  • Dark grey skirt or pinafore OR dark grey or black trousers, shorts or jogging bottoms OR green and white checked summer dresses;
  • Sensible shoes or trainers in a dark colour, preferably black;

    Please note shoes should be entirely in a dark colour, with no coloured laces, logos or other additions.  If trainers are worn, these should be smart and appropriate for school.  White trainers or shoes should not be worn.

  • Summer sandals, which should be enclosed at the heel and toe;
  • Plain white, grey or black socks or tights.

School jumpers are available to buy at the office.  It is really helpful if you can ensure all items of clothing sent to school are clearly labelled – things inevitably go missing during the course of a normal week, and clearly named items of clothing can be easily returned to their owner.

Jewellery, except for a watch or single pair of stud earrings, should not be worn for health and safety reasons.

Remember, too, that our new green PE T-shirts are available from the office in the full range of sizes.  These should be worn with dark shorts or jogging bottoms, depending on the PE activity being carried out.  Please replace any old, white PE T-shirts with the new green design when the old one no longer fits; we would like green T-shirts to be worn by all pupils by Easter next school year.

In addition, it is strongly recommended that any shoulder length hair is tied back.  This is to try to help limit the spread of head-lice between pupils, as well as ensuring hair is kept out of children’s faces as they are trying to work.

We are always on the look-out for any old, good quality uniform for our second-hand uniform shop – please think of us if your child is in year 6 and are leaving us.  Items can be donated through your child’s class or the office.
